Most people don’t know that tires contain a very large percentage of synthetic rubber, which is petroleum based. We’re just trying to buy a set of cheap tires that turn out to be better than four pencil erasers. Regardless of the waiting, the wailing and the whitewalls, I was able to buy four brand-name 80,000-mile discount tires, shipped and installed for under $300. It was my second set of aftermarket wheels that really opened my eyes to getting a good deal on a set of wheels I did really like. If only one or two tires need to be replaced and the others still have good tread left then go ahead and get one or two tires.
